Represent PacifiCorp’s transmission customers requesting transmission to transmission interconnections, contract updates, billing disputes, FERC tariff change and rate updates, and federal and state policy change. Provide advice and counsel to management and client organizations. Conduct special contract reviews and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions. Research, analyze, develop and implement new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions and in response to changing regulatory and reliability requirements. Manage projects and processes required to deliver customer projects that require action by PacifiCorp. Negotiate network customer contracts both new and revisions to existing. Act as the subject matter expert on all network customer contracts.

A Station Wireman is a Journeyman who installs, repairs and maintains generating station, substation structures, equipment, apparatus and wiring.

A Station Wireman Journeyman has a working knowledge of substation equipment, apparatus, and wiring. They install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment which includes, but is not limited to transformers, regulators, load tap changers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, motor-operated and manual switches, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers, and substation structures. They operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding. They perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor, transformer turns ratio, megger, ductor, battery load testing, oil sampling, and other analytical tests as assigned. They are expected to follow safety rules and company standards. They may work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas, may work with bucket and boom trucks.

Create, revise, and update engineering standard that affect all levels of distribution and/or transmission systems design for the company. Work with other internal groups to technically evaluate external suppliers and manufacturers, and their material to ensure material integrity and reliability. Offer specialized expertise in interpreting relevant federal, state and governing body (e.g. NESC) regulations, as well as expertise in material failure modes and the inspection and troubleshooting techniques used to detect them.

*This role may involve up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

Journeyman Linemen shall meet the qualifications as set forth in this Agreement and shall supply the Union and the Company with satisfactory proof of their experience and knowledge. Linemen will perform Equipment Operations duties as per Section 15.37

Requirements

A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Journeyman Lineman certification or testing through IBEW Local 659.
Completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman.
Must meet examining board review of skills and experience.
Candidate must have formal hot stick training and experience.
Must own, or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
This position requires a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening, conducted by a licensed physical therapist, to assure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job. The screening will assess only the identified physical demands of the job being applied for.
