General Purpose

Provides routine and non-routine operational weather forecasts to the utility. Supports the utility’s Emergency Operations Center during activations, respond to after-hours emergency events, and perform data analysis. Works closely with members of the internal meteorology team to help improve operational forecasting methods and models. Contributes to projects that improve operational decision-making during significant weather events. Analyzes a wide range of meteorological data to provide continuously updated weather information from a variety of sources to better manage the impacts of weather on the electric distribution and transmission system to identified vulnerabilities. Responsible for preparing and disseminating daily, weekly, and long term seasonal weather forecasts products, advisories, and warnings concerning a number of hazardous weather conditions, such as severe weather, fire danger, high winds, flash floods, and winter storms to support T&D system operations and generation operations.

General Purpose

Responsible for transmission pre-schedule, control area checkout, internal (borderline) customer scheduling and checkout; after-the-fact reconciliation and WECC reporting. Serves as a part of a team with rotating job functions, including scheduling, After-The-Fact reconciliation (ATF), E-Tag approval, checkout, and several miscellaneous duties in compliance with NERC/WECC policy. The position will work Monday through Friday, and be On-Call on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pre-Schedule of all energy moving through PacifiCorp’s system
  • Lead and assist with monitoring ETAG approval/denials
  • Lead and assist with Internal/Borderline scheduling
  • Lead and assist  After-The-Fact reconciliation.
  • Lead and assist CAS checkout. Provide OASIS backup as needed
  • Work with Real Time Scheduling to resolve differences as needed.
  • Perform and maintain the system load calculation in Energy Accounting System (EAS)
  • Perform and maintain other non-load calculation in Energy Accounting System (EAS)
  • Monitor/maintain/update scheduling filters in Control Area Scheduling (CAS) system
  • Lead and respond to data requests on an as needed basis.

General Purpose

 

17.3.18  An Outage Coordinator is an employee who: must demonstrate a working knowledge of existing tools (Trouble-up, Mobile-up, CSS, OVS, Power-out, etc.) within the first six month probationary period. If no qualified employees apply, the Company may hire the best-unqualified internal/external applicant. Progress of probationary Coordinators will be reviewed monthly against the training modules and standards by the Joint Committee. If the trainee fails to meet the training and/or standards, and the Committee disqualifies the employee from the position, they will be subject to the Force Reduction rules per Article 14 of the collective bargaining agreement. The essential duties of the Outage Coordinator are: (a) acts as the point of contact for outage information; (b) coordinates, gathers, and disseminates outage information; (c) assists in calling and dispatching appropriate response personnel from information gathered through outage or emergency tickets; (d) coordinates with dispatch resources; and (e) assists in dispatching appropriate field related work and provides data input into necessary systems.
