General Purpose

Provides technical support on projects related to wildfire mitigation, asset performance, and T&D Operations across six states. Leverages large data sets including weather, environmental, outage, vegetation, and grid attributes to inform long term risk analysis and aid in decision making. Develops tools, performs analysis and informs the future of data driven decisions. Develops presentations for senior management and recommends and implements changes to meet company goals.

Responsibilities

Conduct research studies and technical analyses in areas of specialized data science to support company objectives including wildfire risk modeling and analysis, electric service reliability analysis, and ad hoc projects in support of electric operations program teams.
Support data science projects, processes, or systems over the life cycle of the project, including project identification, scope development, implementation, and long-term operations and maintenance.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams to analyze complex problems, identify issues, innovate and deliver solutions consistent with schedules established.

Provide advice and counsel to management and client organizations. Conduct special contract reviews and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions. Research, analyze, develop and implement new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions and in response to changing regulatory and reliability requirements. Manage projects and processes required to deliver customer projects that require action by PacifiCorp. Negotiate network customer contracts both new and revisions to existing. A Station Wireman is a Journeyman who installs, repairs and maintains generating station, substation structures, equipment, apparatus and wiring.

A Station Wireman Journeyman has a working knowledge of substation equipment, apparatus, and wiring. They install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment which includes, but is not limited to transformers, regulators, load tap changers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, motor-operated and manual switches, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers, and substation structures. They operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding. They perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor, transformer turns ratio, megger, ductor, battery load testing, oil sampling, and other analytical tests as assigned. They are expected to follow safety rules and company standards. They may work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas, may work with bucket and boom trucks.
