Responsibilities

 

A Line Foreman is a Working Foreman assigned to a Headquarters responsible on a continuing basis for the direct supervision of an assigned crew and the work they perform. The normal complement of a regularly established line crew of three (3) or more workers shall include at least one (1) Journeyman Lineman in addition to the Foreman and may include a Utility Specialist, or Apprentice, or Apprentice-Qualified or Helper classification. The Line Foreman shall:
 
•    Be a qualified Journeyman Lineman
•    Supervise a crew when engaged in line or substation construction or maintenance work
•    Shall work with the employees under his or her supervision to the extent that it does not interfere with the supervisory responsibilities
•    Be responsible for job planning, work methods, equipment application, construction standards and job reporting for the jobs assigned.

Many people will tell you that hobbies don’t belong on a resume. They’ll say that it’s fluff and a waste of space.  After all, shouldn’t you keep work and play separate? Nope, not always!

Many employers seek out not just qualified people, but those who’ll bode well with the workplace dynamic, could bring different perspectives to the table, and vibe with the company’s values.

Responsibilities

 

A PCC Region System Operator is responsible for monitoring and directing the safe and reliable operation of electric transmission, substation, and distribution systems. System Operators are trained, certified and responsible for writing and directing primary voltage planned and emergency switching as well as alarm response and outage restoration dispatching duties as assigned. System Operators are trained, certified and responsible for ensuring operations adhere to relevant Federal safe work practices (OSHA 1910.269), Union/Company accident prevention manuals and critical infrastructure protection (NERC) and standards of conduct (FERC) regulation.

 

  • Performs fault location, isolation, and load restoration techniques and the communication therein to ensure safe and reliable power delivery.
  • Ensures relay zones of protection are identified and determines how these will affect system operation in view of switching to be performed.
  • Monitors and maintains system voltage at acceptable levels to prevent damage to electric equipment and monitors and controls equipment to mitigate line and equipment over-loading conditions.
