General Purpose
Prepare, support and implement PacifiCorp’s environmental compliance reporting obligations related to greenhouse (GHG) allowances, fuel mix, GHG emissions, carbon offsets, renewable energy credits (RECs), and renewable portfolio standards (RPS). Serve as key contact on day-to-day environmental reporting matters, including interfacing with a variety of internal subject matter experts, external stakeholders, and regulators. Use a variety of software programs and data sources to compile, analyze, interpret, and validate environmental reporting information. Apply an understanding of relevant environmental laws and regulations to deliver reports with high-data integrity and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accuracy of the company’s renewable resource and emissions data.
- Manage state renewable portfolio standard compliance filings, including verification of agency certification of renewable resources for compliance with state and/or federal renewable portfolio standard programs.
- Prepare and/or manage the preparation of regulatory and compliance filings to meet the reporting requirements in all states, including regulatory testimony, exhibits and supporting documentation
- Present reports to management to obtain approval to file.
- Ensure compliance reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with state regulatory program requirements.
- Provide guidance to business units on renewable and emissions compliance related matters.
- Monitor, research, and identify emerging or changing environmental regulatory compliance data requirements affecting or potentially affecting PacifiCorp.
- Provide assistance and support for new or existing environmental reporting -related legislation or policies.
- Interpret rules and legislation to optimize the company’s renewable resources and associated renewable energy credits.
- Assure that renewable energy credits are retired in compliance with state and federal law.
- Participate in company-wide planning and analysis to ensure renewable resource and emissions assumptions and strategies are consistent with company’s overall regulatory strategy and in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Develop presentations and periodic reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in regulatory compliance and data analysis, or a related area.
- Knowledge of GHG emissions, fuel mix, and REC reporting requirements concepts in both voluntary and regulatory environments.
- Data analysis and report compilation experience including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in performing environmental attribute marketing activities.
- Familiarity with applicable federal, state, local laws, and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
Preferences
- Advanced degree.
- Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues.
- Understanding of commodity risk management concepts.
- Knowledge of the company’s policies, procedures, and practices.
- Familiarity with the Western Regional Generation Information System (WREGIS).

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
