General Purpose

Responsible for developing and implementing company legislative and regulatory strategies on various complex clean energy and climate issues for the states of California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Provides leadership and advice to management that guides the company’s interest in fulfilling its Environmental RESPECT commitments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate proposed and recently-enacted state and federal laws and regulations that have the potential to impact company operations or policies relating to clean energy and greenhouse gas emissions.. Develop comments on proposed state and federal laws and regulations.   
• Track greenhouse gas accounting and reporting issues in the expansion of organized energy markets across the West. 
• Develop and maintain network of expert contacts as necessary to provide essential input on relevant laws and regulations including consultants, peer utilities, and advocacy groups. Proactively participate in trade associations and various task forces to assist in the development of laws and regulations.
