General Purpose

 

This position is responsible for providing guidance and support for transmission system operations with a focus on reliability and represents PacifiCorp on various regional public power boards, such as North American Electric Reliability Corporation (“NERC”), North American Energy Standards Board (“NAESB”), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (“WECC”), Western Power Pool (“WPP”), California ISO (“CAISO”), and Southwest Power Pool (“SWPP”). 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist on a day-to-day basis with operational issues and merchant interfaces. This includes database programs (EAS, CAS, and Endur), the energy management system (Monarch), compliance with control performance standards (CPS), and disturbance control recovery.
  • Provide operational support as requested for network customer issues contractual input from an operational perspective, and act as the backup administrator function for the Open Access Same-Time Information System (OASIS).
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with the reliability coordinator on matters associated with transmission reliability.

The position provides technical expertise for PacifiCorp real-time operations. This position has responsibility for real-time operational oversight for PacifiCorp’s Bulk Electric Transmission System, market operations (energy imbalance market), and balance and interchange functions which includes real-time communication and coordination with the reliability coordinator and other interconnected entities. Function as the lead/SME in the work group. Responsible for coordinating integrated operational objectives, daily and seasonal operation plans, and ensuring successful completion of objectives by a real-time operating team within a control center environment.
