General Purpose

Plans, arranges for, and coordinates the company’s power generation and interchange scheduling with adjoining systems and other members of various power pools. Monitors system operations and adjusts operational activities accordingly. Schedules sales, purchases, storage and wheeling with other utilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

Monitor future and real-time resource conditions and evaluate fuel requirements.
Monitor compliance with contracts and operational plans.
Monitor system operations and adjust operational activities accordingly.
Determine available surplus energy and schedule sales, purchases, storage, and wheeling with other utilities.
Verify availability and purchasing transmission through third party OASIS sites.
Pre-schedule energy trading and generation control and set an operational plan.
Plan the company’s hourly interchange scheduling with adjoining systems and other members of various power pools.
Review system positions and adjust proposed operational plans accordingly.
Determine appropriate scheduling procedures for legacy contracts and schedule accordingly.

Responsible for transmission pre-schedule, control area checkout, internal (borderline) customer scheduling and checkout; after-the-fact reconciliation and WECC reporting. Serves as a part of a team with rotating job functions, including scheduling, After-The-Fact reconciliation (ATF), E-Tag approval, checkout, and several miscellaneous duties in compliance with NERC/WECC policy. The position will work Monday through Friday and be On-Call on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Mid-Level position include the following:

Pre-Schedule all energy moving through PacifiCorp’s system.
Monitor ETAG approval/denials.
Perform Internal/Borderline scheduling.
Conduct After-The-Fact reconciliation.
Perform CAS (control area scheduling) checkout vs. scheduling software.
Provide OASIS backup as needed.
Work with Real Time Scheduling to resolve differences as needed.

Lead the Pre-Schedule of all energy moving through PacifiCorp’s system.
