Renewable Energy Jobs

There are many high-paying jobs in renewable energy and the industry grows more each year.

Renewable energy jobs are thriving because renewable energy is a growth industry. Renewables are set to account for almost 95% of the increase in global power capacity through 2026, with solar PV alone providing more than half.

Renewables are set to contribute 80% of new power generation capacity by 2030. More than a third of the world’s electricity will come from renewables in 2025. It’s on track to provide 35-50% of electricity in the United States in 2030.

California, the world’s fifth-largest economy, now regularly generates more renewable energy than it needs.

Jobs in solar outnumber jobs in coal mining and the oil and gas industry combined. The number of renewable energy jobs worldwide increased in 2021 despite the huge economic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the growing industry holding up better than fossil fuels.

There were 12 million jobs in renewable energy and its supply chains in 2020, a third of them in solar power.…

salary data

Before an interview, most of us do a little digging. We scan public reviews, hop on LinkedIn, and try to work out what the job might actually feel like. And sooner or later, the salary question comes up: Is the offer likely to match my expectations?

Glassdoor is one of the biggest job search communities, offering access to company reviews, salary information, and new job offers. But it’s not without its disadvantages. Reviews may not be well verified, and can be easily removed or altered by registered companies. Also, as with many crowd-based review platforms, people are more likely to post about bad experiences than good ones, which can skew ratings for a decent workplace.

Likewise, salary data, curated by Glassdoor, isn’t always accurate. Since many entries are dated (2+ years), they don’t accurately reflect today’s compensation. Similarly, public bands often don’t include the entire compensation package, which can include RSUs, bonuses, and stock options.

So if you’re looking for more accurate salary data, here are six Glassdoor alternatives to browse. …

soft skills to put on resume

Soft skills. Every bit of career advice on the Internet tells you they need to be on your resume.

But just pasting buzzwords like “adaptable” or “good with people” will hardly get you anywhere with your job search.

The truth is that most hiring managers don’t care as much about the exact soft skills you have, but rather how you apply them in practice. Can you negotiate with a difficult customer? Keep a project moving when the team morale is low? Persuade stakeholders to act when they’re highly reluctant?
