General Purpose

Accountable for the activities and outcomes of the environmental policy and strategy function for the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. Responsible for managing the activities and staff associated with environmental policy issues impacting the company and for developing company strategies on various complex environmental issues.  Provide leadership and direction to management that guides the company’s interest in fulfilling its Environmental RESPECT commitments.  

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

• Evaluate proposed state and federal laws and regulations that have the potential to impact company operations or policies. Develop comments on proposed state and federal laws and regulations. 
• Integrate environmental assessments of existing and anticipated environmental regulations into the planning and operating decisions of the business units.  
• Advise management of the impact of proposed legislation and regulation and develop potential compliance strategies.
