General Purpose

 

Responsible for management of demand response programs in Oregon, Washington, and California. Establishes and implements business objectives, strategies and plans key to program success. Responsibilities include leading program implementation efforts as well as providing analysis and information critical for program consideration in planning environments.    Responsible for establishment and adherence to budgets. Represents the Company in stakeholder engagement related to programs and may act as lead for Associate and Customer Solutions Program Manager levels.

General Purpose

Design, deliver, and successfully implement residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural energy efficiency program offerings or services. Identify and develop opportunities for new, innovative, cost effective products. Analyze and develop positions on emerging technologies as well as provide input into program and technology strategy development. Evaluate cost effectiveness of engineering proposals, maintain compliance with company tariffs related to Demand Side Management (DSM) and program delivery of other customer solutions. Responsible for the management and administration of program agreements with delivery vendors as well as the development of delivery infrastructure in support of programs assigned.

The regulatory group that oversees Texas’ deregulated power market has identified eight areas the agency will focus on as it continues to study the state’s response to a mid-February storm that left millions of electricity customers without power for several days.

The Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas on March 12, as part of an open meeting, listed items including weatherization of generation equipment, and also a study on how to improve the state’s power market, as part of its ongoing research into the causes and effects of the extreme winter weather on Texas’ power transmission and distribution system.

“I am proud of the work PUC staff is doing to shed light on the issues that combined to interrupt power for millions of Texans—we must make sure it never happens again,” said Arthur D’Andrea, the PUC chair who was appointed to the post after former PUC head DeAnn Walker resigned March 1, one of several resignations or firings—including the head of the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the state’s grid operator—of officials in the wake of the February power outages.…

With more than 100 power plants in 33 nations generating and distributing energy to more than 60 million customers, Enel’s multi-platform fleet is rapidly changing. “We are in the middle of a transition to a new energy paradigm characterized by the rise of renewables and distributed energy. These pose challenges to traditional generation and power network systems,” he told attendees at Power-Gen Europe in Milan, Italy, on July 21.

From Viale’s global perspective, all utilities are being influenced by four major factors: “persistent market volatility, a growing environmental culture, calls for sustainability, and the megatrend of digitalization.”…
