Now, you may have some questions. What should you expect? What happens now? We answer these questions and more in this post!

What’s a Job Orientation?

A job orientation (also called employee orientation) is a one-time onboarding event, meant to introduce you to the company’s culture, processes, and teams. The goal of orientation — help you get all settled in the new role.

Every company takes a slightly different approach to employee orientation. Some have a very formal onboarding process, with a checklist, mandatory training, and several hours with HR. Other employers may just introduce you to people, have you sign a few forms, and show you to your workstation.

unimpressed boss

The moment you walk through the office door, a feeling of dread settles in. You thought this was going to be a long, successful career move. Nobody’s told you that you are on borrowed time, but it’s as if you are being pushed out.

Is it all in your head? Maybe not. Get to know why and when your boss wants you to quit from this post.

Why Does Your Boss Pushes You to Quit?

If your boss wants you to leave, you’d think they would simply fire you. But, it’s not as simple as that. Sometimes, employers have strategic reasons for pushing people to quit rather than firing them. For example, if you quit, they don’t have to pay you a severance package or fund your unemployment compensation.

sample resume for bartender

There’s more to bartending than pouring beers and refilling bowls of pretzels. Today, a bartender is expected to master dozens of cocktails, understand the ins and outs of various brews, and perhaps even concoct a few of their own signature drinks. They must also have excellent customer service skills.

Finally, most bartending jobs also require other administrative skills.  Bartenders are often responsible for dealing with food and beverage vendors, helping with carryout orders, and doing other back-of-the-house functions.

That’s a lot of duties, but there’s good news. A good part-time bartender working at a great spot can easily make a couple hundred dollars a night. Some full-time bartenders even make up to six figures per year or even more!

But to get there, you have to first land an interview. That means writing a great resume. Let’s start with a few tips. Later we’ll share great resume examples for bartenders (on the house!).
