Pacific Power’s Klamath Area has an opening for a journeyman lineman to join their team located in Klamath Falls, OR (Oregon’s City of Sunshine.)  The district covers approximately 3,440 square miles in both Oregon and California.  Work includes new installations, maintenance and troubleshooting on transmission and distribution electrical systems overhead and some underground.  The Klamath Area is home to Crater Lake National Park, Lava Beds National monument, numerous wildlife refuges, and the largest body of freshwater by surface area in Oregon.  If you like hunting, fishing, boating, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities, meet the requirements below and want to join a professional hard working team, please submit your application.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Responsibilities

 

A Journeyman Estimator is an employee who represents the company when meeting with customers to determine customer load requirements and advise customers of the company’s service requirements. Will have a basic knowledge of available marketing programs and other associated company programs to serve the customer’s needs. Is qualified to perform all estimating functions related to building, re-building and maintaining company electric facilities. Shall have practical knowledge of electrical theory and practical and detailed knowledge of construction specifications, electrical codes, rates and service policies.  

 

Typical duties are to meet with new or existing customers, document correspondence and work assignments per Customer Guarantees procedures, prepare right-of-way easements, make field surveys, process crossing permits and designs expenditure requisitions with supporting documentation. A Garage Mechanic is a Journeyman Vehicle-Equipment Maintenance Mechanic who is, by training and experience, a qualified automotive or mechanized construction equipment mechanic who prior to employment has successfully completed the standard qualifying examination.   
Must be a Journeyman Mechanic who is qualified to and does overhaul, repair and maintain automotive and utility work equipment, including the hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components and equipment.

 

Requirements

 

  • The successful applicant will be by training and/or experience a qualified automotive or mechanized construction equipment mechanic.
  • This position requires applicants to successfully complete a standardized qualifying exam, administered by PacifiCorp. 
  • Must have a high school diploma or proof of equivalent. 
  • Must have, or obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 90 days of hire date. 
  • Five years of experience repairing small and large distribution utility equipment is preferred.
