General Purpose

Working under limited supervision and using instruction, provides technical expertise and guidance in supporting end-user hardware and software issues with desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals, telecommunications and the mainframe. 

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

 

  • Responds to end-users’ inquiries regarding technology issues. Includes incident recognition, research, resolution and follow-up steps for first and second tier issues. 
  • Uses incident management database and service desk systems. 
  • Supports most end point devices of Berkshire Hathaway Energy network. 
  • Assists in recommending systems modifications/ configurations to reduce user problems.
  • Assists in supporting and administering audio, video and web conferencing.
  • Assists in providing IT-related employee communications to the company or affiliates. 
  • Participates in user testing, implementing, document creation and communication for information technology department and the end-user.
  • Under supervision creates and presents various reports to management as requested.
  • Provide after-hours support and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

In an unscientific survey of well over 100 job postings in late 2022 and early 2023, I don’t recall any that did not require the applicant to submit a resume or their LinkedIn profile, or both.

I recommend continuing to submit your resume for the simple reason that you can and should adapt it to individual job postings so that you maximize matching your unique qualifications to the requirements of each job.  Resumes targeted at specific roles as marketing tools are more likely to succeed in landing you an interview.  Most LinkedIn profiles are rather static and not updated as frequently.  Your resume is much more adaptable to those instances in which your standard version does not exactly match certain desired opportunities.…

General Purpose

 

17.3.18  An Outage Coordinator is an employee who: must demonstrate a working knowledge of existing tools (Trouble-up, Mobile-up, CSS, OVS, Power-out, etc.) within the first six month probationary period. If no qualified employees apply, the Company may hire the best-unqualified internal/external applicant. Progress of probationary Coordinators will be reviewed monthly against the training modules and standards by the Joint Committee. If the trainee fails to meet the training and/or standards, and the Committee disqualifies the employee from the position, they will be subject to the Force Reduction rules per Article 14 of the collective bargaining agreement. The essential duties of the Outage Coordinator are: (a) acts as the point of contact for outage information; (b) coordinates, gathers, and disseminates outage information; (c) assists in calling and dispatching appropriate response personnel from information gathered through outage or emergency tickets; (d) coordinates with dispatch resources; and (e) assists in dispatching appropriate field related work and provides data input into necessary systems.
