General Purpose

Manages the day-to-day relay support engineering for Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power that have significant impact on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives. Establishes and implements business objectives, strategies, and plans.  Manages and allocates financial and employee resources. Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing technical employees and responsible for management of employee salaries. Implements and supports Company programs, policies and objectives. Responsible for adherence to department financial budgets. Responsible for 24/7 technical support for substation and line apparatus, protective relays and communication equipment. Responsible for delivery of corporate and departmental goals and objectives. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify policies, practices and procedures to improve the overall operational effectiveness of PacifiCorp’s transmission and distribution system.
  • Provide technical support to critical and highly complex operation and control functions within the business.

General Purpose

Contributes to planning and implementation of transmission projects necessary to ensure that the transmission system continues to reliably and efficiently accommodate customer needs. Utilizes engineering methods to demonstrate compliance with NERC/WECC Reliability Standards. Develops engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the CompanyÂ’s generation, transmission facilities/systems.

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Design, develop, modify, and evaluate transmission systems, processes, or facilities to support Company objectives, utilizing engineering methods to demonstrate compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards.
