General Purpose

Oversees a wide range of meteorological data to provide continuously updated weather information from a variety of sources to better manage the impacts of weather on the electric distribution and transmission system to identified vulnerabilities. Serves as the primary contact for meteorological information needed within the business. This includes taking the role as the lead forecaster during periods of critical fire weather conditions, and providing strategic meteorological support for operational and engineering projects designed to mitigate wildfire risk. Oversees daily, weekly, and long term seasonal weather forecasts products, advisories, and warnings concerning a number of hazardous weather conditions, such as severe weather, fire danger, high winds, flash floods, and winter storms to support T&D system operations and generation operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for all weather related matters.
Plan and manage the work of the functional group.

A Journeyman Estimator is an employee qualified to perform all estimating functions by training as a Journeyman Estimator Apprentice or equivalent education and experience. They shall have an intermediate knowledge of electrical theory and practice, and a detailed knowledge of construction specifications, electrical codes, and rate and service policies. They may make field surveys, prepare right-of-way permits, crossing and conflict documents, expenditure requisitions and related papers and assists in the preparation of district annual budgets as assigned.

Requirements

A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of a Estimator apprenticeship program or equivalent education and experience.
Candidate must have a basic knowledge of electric theory and operations and a thorough knowledge of construction specifications, electrical codes, mapping systems and line extension policies and tariffs.
Successfully pass the Estimator exam within 6 months from start date.

Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Lineman you will install, maintain and repair all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment, both overhead and underground, while utilizing line trucks, aerial boom, lifts and wire pulling equipment. Maintenance of lines and services will require pole climbing, hot sticking, and working out of truck mounted bucket lifts to construct, repair or maintain line equipment or string, splice and sag wire on live or dead circuits.
