General Purpose

Under general direction, performs management of pre-commercial and commercial energy supply contracts per their terms and conditions, including but not limited to; certifying completion of contractually required milestones, acceptance of commercial operation, compliance, dispute resolution and the invoice settlement function for long-term renewable and non-renewable contracts and agreements. Coordinate and implement solutions for issues related to integration of battery technology in long-term power purchase agreements.

Responsibilities

Under general direction:
Contract Project Management / Long-Term Renewable Power Purchase Agreements 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that pre-commercial long-term renewable power purchase agreements are planned, executed and monitored effectively, contributing to successful advancement of clean energy technologies. 
  • Track pre-commercial construction performance milestones and lead monthly meetings with suppliers. 
  • Assist in identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with project team, Legal and counterparty.

This position supports all activities, programs and operations of the company’s Emergency Management Program. Supports the development and delivery of a comprehensive, all-hazards emergency management program. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies and serves as the liaison with all local, state and federal agencies, Responsible for supporting the emergency preparedness activities and providing emergency response training to internal and external stakeholders.

What is Impression Management?

Self-presentation, also called impression management, is our conscious and unconscious efforts to shape how others perceive us. We often adjust our behaviors, based on the social context and the people we’re around, to appear our “better selves”. 

The concept of Impression management comes from a sociology professor, Erving Goffman. In his work “The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life”, Goffman analyzes human behaviors through the lens of the “public self”. He examines all the conscious and subconscious efforts we make to conform to the expectations and norms of society (words, actions, body language, facial expression, etc.)

The Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades make up a significant portion of a construction project’s budget, and MEP scope continues to grow in complexity and size as we get further into the 21st century. Depending on the type of project, the MEP scope can account for upwards of a third of an overall project’s budget. With that in mind, along with feedback from our industry partners, the Construction Management Program at Ferris State University saw a need to increase the amount of MEP content that was being taught in our construction technology and management degree programs.

After an in-depth curriculum review, two new courses that combine both lecture and lab components were added to the program to address the importance of the MEP trades; Electrical Construction Practices and Mechanical Construction Practices. Students have the opportunity to learn about mechanical and electrical systems, major types of materials and equipment, construction documents, installation techniques, relevant codes, and the testing and commissioning of these systems.…
