Work with other internal groups to technically evaluate external suppliers and manufacturers, and their material to ensure material integrity and reliability. Offer specialized expertise in interpreting relevant federal, state and governing body (e.g. NESC) regulations, as well as expertise in material failure modes and the inspection and troubleshooting techniques used to detect them.
*This role may involve up to 10% travel.
• Support procurement in efforts to increase material redundancy and resolve material shortages.
• Collaborate directly with suppliers to foster strong business relationships.
• Evaluate suppliers’ ability to manufacture material effectively and reliably.
• Review manufacturer drawings to ensure that they conform to internal specifications and standards.
• Develop and maintain publications describing material, material specifications and installation of material.
